How flower delivery works and how to choose

From your order to their door

Pick an arrangement, then enter the recipient's ZIP code on the product page to see which delivery dates are open in their area. We deliver to addresses in the United States, so you can have flowers delivered across town or across the country. After you order, a local florist near the recipient makes the arrangement by hand and delivers it. Write your card message at checkout and it's included on a card with the flowers. Every flower order has a delivery fee starting at $13.99, and your full delivery charge shows at checkout before you pay. Some gift baskets ship by carrier instead; their product pages say "Ships by carrier".

Same-day flower delivery or a date you choose

Florist arrangements ordered by 2:00 PM ET Monday to Friday, or by 1:30 PM ET on Saturday, can be delivered the same day when that date is available for the ZIP code. There are no Sunday deliveries, and an order placed after the cutoff can be scheduled for the next available date. Planning ahead works just as well: choose the day on the calendar for a birthday, an anniversary or another special occasion. Most deliveries arrive by 8:00 PM in the recipient's time zone, but a specific time of day can't be guaranteed. Same-day and next-day dates may add a small charge, shown on the calendar.

Where we deliver flowers

Homes, offices, hospitals and funeral homes each need a few details. Deliveries to an office or school go to the front desk or reception during business hours, so pick a weekday when the recipient is in. For a hospital, include the patient's full name and room number if you have it, and check that the unit allows flowers. For sympathy flowers going to a funeral home, use its full address and choose a date before the service. A gift basket that ships by carrier to a hospital, hotel or college goes to the mail room or receiving desk.

Choose flowers for every occasion

The occasion narrows things quickly. Birthday flowers tend to be bright and cheerful, anniversary flowers often center on red or pink roses, and sympathy flowers range from vase arrangements for the family's home to floor baskets and standing sprays for the service. If you know their favorite flower, start there. Roses appear in more than half of our arrangements, and lilies, carnations, daisies, hydrangeas, sunflowers and orchids each have a spot in the flower row at the top of this page. Color carries a message too: red is traditionally linked with love, yellow with friendship and cheer, and white with peace and remembrance, while mixed bouquets combine several colors in one.

Choose by budget, or let the florist decide

The budget row at the top of the page groups designs under $50, $75, $100 and $150. Most floral arrangements come in a choice of sizes, so you can find a design you like and go up a size for a fuller look. Not sure what they'd like? With Designer's Choice, you pick a style, such as Bright and Cheerful, and the florist designs it with the flowers on hand that day. For a gift that outlasts fresh flowers, plants such as peace lilies, orchids and dish gardens can keep going for weeks with simple care.

Flower delivery questions

How does flower delivery work when I order flowers online?

You choose the arrangement and a delivery date on our website. A local florist near the recipient then arranges it by hand and delivers it. The dates you can pick depend on the recipient's ZIP code, and delivery is available to addresses in the United States. Your card message travels with the order.

Can I get fresh flowers delivered today?

Yes, same-day flower delivery is available when today's date is open for the recipient's ZIP code. Order a florist arrangement by 2:00 PM ET on a weekday or by 1:30 PM ET on Saturday. Sunday delivery isn't available, and gift baskets that ship by carrier are never same-day.

Can I schedule flower delivery for a later date?

Yes. Choose any open date on the delivery calendar when you add flowers to your cart, which is handy for a birthday or anniversary you don't want to miss. Orders for a future date can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the delivery date, and changes, including address corrections, can be made within 15 minutes of ordering.

What if I don't know which flowers to send?

Choose a Designer's Choice arrangement. You decide the style and size, and the local florist designs it with the flowers on hand that day, so the photo shows an example rather than an exact recipe. It's a good fit when you don't know their favorite flower or you'd like a florist's eye.

How much does flower delivery cost?

Every flower order includes a delivery fee that starts at $13.99. Same-day and next-day dates may add a small charge, which appears on the delivery calendar, and the full delivery charge is shown at checkout before you pay. Our shipping policy has the details.

What happens if the flowers arrive damaged or wilted?

Tell us within 24 hours of delivery and we'll send a replacement or give a full refund. For any other concern with freshness, quality or presentation, you have five days. Send the order number, a short description and a photo if you can, as our refund policy explains.

Will the flowers look exactly like the picture?

They'll be close, but every arrangement is made by hand, so small differences are normal. If a flower, color or container isn't available, the florist may substitute one of equal or higher value and keep the look and feel of the design. Some flowers, often lilies, arrive in bud so they last longer.
