Gift Baskets

Gift baskets of fresh fruit, cheese, crackers and cookies are easy to share with a family, an office or neighbors. Seven of the eight items here are food baskets that ship by carrier; the eighth, Classic Red Roses, is a bouquet hand-tied by a local florist.

The guide below helps you choose between all-fruit, gourmet and sympathy baskets. Carrier-shipped baskets are never same-day.

How to choose gift baskets

All fruit, fruit and gourmet, or fruit and flowers

Before you send a gift basket, think about what the recipient likes to eat. The Deluxe All Fruit Basket sticks to fruit, with kiwi, pineapple, apples, grapefruit and plums. For someone who likes savory food too, Fruit & Gourmet Basket and Deluxe Fruit & Gourmet Baskets add sausage, cheese, crackers and cookies; the Deluxe version runs from a Small, about 12 inches high and wide, to an Extra Large, about 21 by 22 inches. Fruits and Blooms Basket packs fruit and fresh flowers into one box. For a holiday open house or a busy office, the Grand Holiday Gourmet and Fruit Basket sets a whole pineapple in the center under a red bow, and it's also among our Christmas fruit baskets. Compare every option in fruit baskets.

Baskets for a family in mourning

Food is a practical comfort when visitors keep stopping by after a funeral. Bon Vivant Gourmet Basket pairs apples, pears, oranges, grapes, bananas and a pineapple with cheeses, crackers and tea, and Grande Gourmet Fruit Basket adds savory biscuits and tea to a generous mix of fruit. Send these to the family's home rather than the funeral home. You'll find both in sympathy gift baskets.

Gift basket questions

What are good items for a gift basket?

A good basket balances sweet and savory. Fresh fruit such as apples, pears and citrus gives it color, while cheese, crackers and cured sausage make it feel like a meal and cookies cover the sweet side. Think about who will share it and what they like to eat.

How long does gift basket delivery take?

Baskets marked "Ships by carrier" are never delivered the same day, and the estimated date appears at checkout. Dates can't be guaranteed for PO boxes or military addresses, and at hospitals, hotels and colleges the basket goes to the mail room or receiving desk. If it must arrive today, choose a florist-delivered gift instead.

What can I send instead of a gift basket?

A flowering or green plant lasts for weeks and needs no refrigerator space, which suits a small apartment or someone who lives alone. Fresh flowers from a local florist are the other easy swap. Browse our plants for ideas.

Can I add a card message to a gift basket?

Yes. Type your message at checkout and it's included on a card with the basket. For a team gift, sign it from everyone, such as "Thanks for a great quarter. From the whole sales team," so the recipient knows who to thank.
